TO A CHILD…LOVE IS SPELLED T.I.M.E.

While looking through some boxes of photo albums in his attic, an elderly man came across a journal from his son’s childhood.  As he read, he found that his son’s simple recollections of those childhood days were far different than his own.

Reminded that he, also, kept a daily journal of his activities over the years, the man took his son’s journal to his den.  Finding his old journal, the man’s eyes fell upon an entry that stood out because it was so brief in comparison to other days.  In his own neat handwriting were these words,

“Wasted the whole day fishing with Jimmy.  Didn’t catch a thing.”

With a deep sigh, he took Jimmy’s journal and found the boy’s entry for the same day, June 4.  Large scrawling letters pressed deeply into the page read:

“Went fishing with my dad.  Best day of my life.”
